The Full Story

Dr Natasha Wheeler was born in Randfontein and completed her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree at the University of the Witwatersrand in 2008.  She completed 2 years of internship at Steve Biko Academic Hospital in Pretoria and 1 year of community service in Brits in the North-West Province.  She then returned to the University of Pretoria in 2012 as a registrar in the Department of General Surgery and completed her studies in 2018. She became a Fellow of the College of Surgeons of South Africa in 2018 and obtained her postgraduate Master of Medicine in General Surgery degree in 2019. 

She has been in private practice at Brits Mediclinic since 2019 and aims to provide treatment, investigation, and surgery for a broad spectrum of emergency and chronic general surgical conditions.

She currently has professional memberships in the South African Burn Society, the Association of Surgeons of South Africa and South African Society of Endoscopic Surgeons. 

She also shares a passion for Breast and Thyroid surgery and is a staunch advocate for breast cancer screening.

She remains committed to keep up to date with current literature and treatment modalities for general surgical conditions and to deliver the best possible care to her patients.
