Pilonidal cyst & abscess

A pilonidal cyst is a chronic condition that occurs in the cleft between the buttocks, near the tailbone. It develops when loose hairs penetrate the skin, leading to inflammation and infection. When infected, it may form a pilonidal abscess, causing pain, swelling, redness, and discharge of pus or blood. Symptoms are often worse when sitting and may be associated with fever or general discomfort
