Gynecomastia

Gynaecomastia is a benign enlargement of male breast tissue, caused by an imbalance between oestrogen and testosterone. It may affect one or both breasts and can occur at any age. Gynaecomastia may present as a firm or rubbery lump beneath the nipple and may be associated with tenderness or discomfort.

Common causes include hormonal changes, certain medications, medical conditions, and weight changes. Assessment is important to exclude underlying disease or malignancy.
