Stomach Surgery

Stomach surgery refers to operations performed on the stomach to treat conditions such as bleeding ulcers, perforation, obstruction, severe reflux-related complications, benign or malignant tumours, and in selected cases, complications of inflammation or scarring. The type of surgery depends on the diagnosis, the area of the stomach involved, and the urgency of the condition.

Stomach surgery may be planned (elective) or performed urgently in emergencies such as perforation or uncontrolled bleeding or gastric outlet obstruction.
