Burns

A burn is an injury to the skin and underlying tissues caused by heat, chemicals, electricity, radiation, or friction. Burns can range from superficial (minor) to deep and extensive, and may cause pain, redness, blistering, swelling, or loss of skin. Severe burns may be associated with fluid loss, infection, and systemic illness.
